Journal Entry 1 by rosiewhippet from Fenstanton, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Monday, March 06, 2006
Every Thursday at Eight, four women meet to talk and share thier lives. As one life-changing year unfolds it becomes a true celebration of friends helping each other through the tough times. Having just suffered a heartbreaking divorce, Clare is bitter and angry. Then she learns some devistating news about her ex-husband. Elizabeth, in her late fifties, is recently widowed and finds herself back in the dating game. And that means putting the past behind her. Twenty-something Karen is desperate to be an actress - if only her parents didn't want her to be more like her respectable sister. Julia is turning forty. Her kids are finally in their teens and she's just started her own business. Now she finds out that she's pregnant.

Journal Entry 3 by rosiewhippet from Fenstanton, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Tuesday, March 14, 2006
Have just finished the book. Was very good, quick read. Was quite sad and emotionally towards the end. When the four ladies reflect back on the year they have all had, changes and what they have learnt from it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. And I hope you all do to! Will get momofap's address today and send it out tomorrow or Thurs. Let the Bookring begin. Enjoy. Rosiewhippet. x

Journal Entry 5 by momofap from Sheldon, Iowa USA on Sunday, April 02, 2006
I enjoyed reading this book from cover-to-cover. The theme of friendship really touched my heart. This storyline made me appreciate the friends I have. The story also pointed out that women of different ages can become friends. I did enjoy how the author worked knitting into the storyline. I realize that knitting is important to the author, so when I read it as part of her story I feel like the author is sharing herself with her readers. I really enjoyed the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. Thank you for sharing this book with me. As soon as I get an address it will be on its way to the next reader.

Journal Entry 12 by LyzzyBee from Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom on Monday, June 12, 2006
Received with thanks! I have one Ring in front of it plus my current read so it may be a week or so before it's read and sent on. I believe I'm the last on the Ring before it returns home - Rosiewhippet, your note is still in the book and I'm fine if you pop me your address any time so I can pop it back when the time comes! I know how you feel, as I have had a couple of rings go missing (but most have turned up in the end, usually when I've replaced them!) Looking forward to reading this, as Macomber is my New Favourite Author!

Journal Entry 14 by LyzzyBee from Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom on Sunday, June 25, 2006
Had to go on holiday in between receiving this and reading it - I don't like taking ring books on hol as that is when something would happen to a book! Anyway - really enjoyed it as I always do hers - I have read a few recently and definitely a new favourite. The book was gentle but exciting as you follow the womens' lives, and she portrays different ages and kinds of women with a deft and light touch. I really liked the quotations at the tops of the chapters too. I have tregossip's address so will pop it in the post this week. Thanks again for this one (and enjoy it, Ali - see you couldn't resist going on the list!)

Journal Entry 37 by katybean at Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire United Kingdom on Friday, January 28, 2011
Apologies for keeping this book so long! I've just started working my way through my 'given to me in 2008 books' and this was on it! I enjoyed the story, loved it's up's and downs, and think the writer handled some 'difficult' storylines beautifully. Will look out for other Debbie Macomber books I think! Katybean x
