This is a cute book! Kate Connor is a retired demon hunter. She is married with 2 kids (one is a teenager an the other a toddler). Her daily life consists of cooking dinner, laundry and chasing after Timmy (the toddler). She hasn't fought a demon in years. That's about to change.

Her family and friends don't know her secret.

I don't know if this is going to become a series.. but I would really like it if it did. I would like to know more about Kate and Eric's relationship.

I am sending this book to sunlightbulb as part of the lifetime release challenge.

Enjoy!!

I really enjoyed this.
Kate is a retired demon hunter, her family know nothing about her 'previous' life, she now spends her time cleaning, cooking, laundry, car-pooling for her teenage daughter, play-dates, dirty diapers, and chasing her toddler, Timmy around.

In the pet-food aisle of the supermarket, she smells that familiar 'demon' smell, but passes it off. Later that day, the same demon comes crashing through her kitchen window while she is preparing for a dinner party for her husband's work colleagues........ She fights the demon and kills him (after all she was once considered to be the best demon hunter around) and there he is on her kitchen floor, only in movies do the dead demons disappear in a flash of fire!
Its almost time for her husband to arrive home, this dinner party is important and could mean that Stuart her husband gets elected to County Attorney, and she still has to continue the dinner, and she can't be seen in the sweat pants and pta t-shirt!, the demon for now, has to go in the kitchen larder cupboard, she will think about what to do with him later........
Meanwhile, the guests arrive, and Kate once again smells that 'demon' smell. Judge Larson, her husband's work colleague, surely there isn't going to be another demon in her house, Kate runs upstairs to fetch her hidden supply of holy water, that will determine if he is a demon, except Judge Larson 'accidentally' knocks the glass of holy water from her hand.......
Kate calls Father Corletti in the Vatican, its 4am and he hasn't heard from her in years, but is expecting her call.......
Now Kate must find the demon in San Diablo, and what exactly does he want! And she must do it without alerting anyone and exposing her secret life.
Kate sets out on a mission to rid San Diablo of demons, and has a few hysterical moments along the way, especially when her best friend, and confidante, Laura, starts to follow her, suspecting that she is cheating on her husband Stuart.....

Will be on it's way to AgnesXnitt very soon!

I really enjoyed this book - it lived up to all my expectations :) A twist here and there, and who knew everyday life for a 'retired' demon hunter now married mum of two could get so complicated when she is forced back into action? Ending left *wide* open for a sequel - someone write Ms Julie Kenner and get her scribbling again!!
PMing AmaniS for her address and will aim to post soonest.
Thanks again Sunlightbub :)

Both received and read. Oops! Sorry for not posting earlier, but between the time I got it and the time I finished it, only about 24 hours had passed.

Thought it was good, especially after the first fifty pages or so, when I found that Kenner/Kate Connor harped too much on the fact that she used to hunt demons but gave it up to raise her family. After that, though, it was great fun. Enough so that I'm going to try to get my hands on a copy of the sequel (which I *think* is "California Demon").

Anyway, I'll PM Azuki and with any luck, I'll be able to have the book in the mail before the end of the week.
