This book came from a large lot we recently bought at auction but unfortunately it is not suitable for our shop stock, so is going to be "book-crossed", so that someone else may enjoy it.

This book has been registered as part of the "Race to 3 Million Books Registered Challenge".

The fabulous tale of the voyage of the sixth-century monk St Brendan has caught the imagination of peoples through the ages. Scholars have attempted to identify the places described in the stones, while modern explorers have even set out to show that Brendan reached the continent of North America in his leatherbound boat.

Whether St Brendan's "Voyage" was indeed an historical journey, taking in wondrous happenings and dangers of all kinds, or whether this ancient text is the account of a soul journey, similar to the Arthurian legends in its powerful symbolism, will never be known. The incredible story holds the same depth of both spiritual and historical fascination that it always has.

I found the book on a park bench outside the Dulwich Picture Gallery on the 3rd March, 06. Unfortunately, even though it's a booklet, I couldn't make the journey with St Brendan,it was not for me. However, others might, so I have entrusted it with a friend who will be returning shortly to Seattle. Hopefully the book will continue its voyage.

A friend in London gave the book to me to bring home to Seattle. I'd never heard of BookCrossing before, and was delighted to have a way to send some of my books traveling. I returned to Seattle on 29 March, and left the book at a Queen Anne Hill Starbucks several days later.
