This is Ian Rankin's second novel, written in 1988 but re-released with an introduction from the author. I really enjoy reading his Inspector Rebus series so I was interested to find out how one of his books about another character would compare.
This is just as much a page turner as the Rebus series, just as gripping. It is very evocative of the feeling of the time, really bringing back the suspicion and worry about bomb scares around London.
