Greenwich, south-east London. The Met's crack murder squad, AMIP, is called out by nervous CID detectives to a grim discovery. Five bodies, all young women, all ritualistically murdered and dumped on wasteland near the Dome. As each post-mortem reveals a singular, horrific signature linking the victims, officers realise that they are on the trail of the most dangerous offender: a sexual serial killer.
Detective Inspector Jack Caffery - young, driven, unshockable - finds himself facing both hostility within the force and echoes of the past in this, his first case with AMIP.

First Detective Inspector Jack Caffery novel. I have read Mo Hayder books in reverse order !! First Tokyo, then The Treatment, and now looking forward to this.

A real grizzly story. Well written with some twists and surprizes. I think it would have been even more of a thriller if I had read it before The Treatment, as the some of the characters feature in both books.

The book arrived here this morning, thank you. Once I've finished my current book, this one is next so I shouldn't be too long getting to it.

Thanks for letting me join this book ray. I bought The Treatment a while ago but haven't yet read it, so it'll be nice to read the books in the right order.

I've just finished reading this book and wanted to journal it right away. It was a brilliant read, I got completely engrossed in the story. I'm usually quite squeamish and struggle with the gruesome scenes in books like this but this book seemed different. I thought the characters were great too.

Once I've caught up on all the rings and rays I have here I will be getting The Treatment off my TBR pile and reading it. I want to know what happens next to the characters.

* I've already PM'd Mrsdanvers and received her address back so I'll get the book in the post as soon as I can. *

Received today from sunflowergirl.
Reading series out of order seems to be a habit with me these days. Does this mean my control-freakery is diminishing?

Read this almost as soon as it arrived - very engaging, well-written, and at times, quite gruesome. Thanks for sharing, will psot to Calalilly when I have an address.

Bit of a screw up at my end; having reached this book in my unpacking-and-reading, I've discovered that 1) I'd read it already and 2) it should have been posted a LONG time ago. Whoops. I'll find out if Calalilly still wants it!

PS It's still an excellent read second time around...
