According to the dust jacket, this is a stormy love story that sweeps across the ancient world of the 8th century before Christ.
This hardcover book is in good shape. I bought it at my local library's yearly book sale, because it looks interesting and I thought I'd use it if I enter the animal challenge again.
The author is Irish, and I'm glad to have it as one of the to-be-read books to start me off on my Olympic challenge of reading books from 202 different counties.

I enjoyed this book. It's set in ancient Austria and the Russian steppes, and focusses on the journeys of a young Celtic woman who finds herself caught between the two cultures. It's not focused on some misty-eyed romantic tryst, but on the consequences of impetuous decisions of young people striving to come of age and find their places in their worlds.

I left this on a cement planter between Starbucks and the neighboring sandwich shop.
I found this book in my grandfather's house about a month ago, in a box full of other books and VHS tapes. He can't seem to recall where he got it from. It looked interesting though, so it's mine now. I'm about to start reading it now, so we'll see how it goes!
