I loved the movie, so when I saw this at Bookbuyers in Mountain View I had to scoop it up!

I started this book during the last week in March and I am just loving it so far. Scarlett's just married Frank Kennedy.
Oh, wow. Talk about a killer ending. I'd seen the movie so I knew how the story ends, but it's even more wrenching and frustrating in the book. Scarlett, why are you so awful about people? Rhett, why couldn't you just give her a chance? Ashley, why are you such a pussy? (Well, you do have a girl's name, Ashley.) Why am I not as saintly as Melony?
(etc and so on)
Beautiful, beautiful book. I now feel a strong need to force everyone I know to read Gone with the Wind, but I know that most of my friends lack the endurance to make it through Mitchell's master work.
