Another "which category" puzzler: pets, humor, poetry? At first glance this book looks like one of the many (many, many) cat-based gift books that flood the market seasonally, most of which are repeats of public-domain poetry or very bad attempts at cat-poem humor. This one, however, is original, pithy, unsentimental - and often gets the very essence of cats (love 'em or hate 'em). Samples:

Oh, good. You're home. I
Celebrate joyously with
A rousing ear-twitch.

I think that the new
Kitten makes a fine punching
Bag and trampoline.

And of course:

I yowl to the moon;
I am king of the night. Hear
Me and weep, Fluffy.

There are lots more, not all of them successful, but I enjoyed the collection very much.

Released on Thursday, January 09, 2003 at Royal Ridge Mall in Nashua, New Hampshire USA.

Left the book in Petsmart at about 2 pm - propped it up against the donation boxes near the exit, just to the left of the Kitty Angels "Dumpster Cats". [There was a lovely huge grey-and-white cat sprawled on its back, asleep... The only way I can get past the cats-needing-homes is to remember my cats-AT-home and how mad they'll get if I add any more!]
