Delia Hopkins has led a charmed life. Raised in rural New Hampshire by her beloved, widowed father, she now has a young daughter, a handsome fiance, and her own search-and-rescue bloodhound, which she uses to find missing persons. But as Delia plans her wedding, she is plagued by flashbacks of a life she can't recall -- until a policeman knocks on her door, revealing a secret about herself that changes the world as she knows it -- and threatens to jeopardize her future.

I have read several of Picoult's books, and was never overly impressed and left the books feeling nothing. This one was my favorite. The story itself was ok, and pretty predicting. What I enjoyed about this book were some of the passages. My favorite:
pg. 225-Memories aren't stored in the heart of the head or even the soul..but in the places between any given two people.
Brilliant!
08/14-mailed to first person today via media mail! Happy traveling book!!

I have two bookring books ahead of this one, but I should be able to read and send on within a month.
Interesting story. The characters were complex and I liked following their stories. Another good Jodi Picoult.
Sending on to Aramena.

Arrived yesterday! This will be my first book by this author! Since my mom and my boss have both become fans of hers, I've been wanting to try her work.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this author but I really enjoyed the book! I liked the alternating narration and reading the story from different perspectives. Things tied up fairly neatly in the end, yet with a couple of questions still lingering. I don't know that I'll go searching for more Picoult books, but if I happen to come across any I'm sure I'll grab them!
This is off to missprisy today!

Book arrived yesterday. It's currently number 2 TBR, right after another bookray book.
This was my first Jodi Picoult book and I loved it. Thanks for sharing this book momx3lovesbooks and Aramena. Frangipani04 asked me to wait toward the end of the month to mail this book, so I will. I'll edit this message letting everyone know what date I put the book in the mail.
Mailed Nov 28.

It's with me now. Thanks for sending it missprisy!
Great book! One of my Jodi Picoult's favourites, so far. The plot and the characters were very well constructed. I was really held by the book and wanted to read chapter after chapter. It was one of those books that, if I had had the time for it, would have kept me reading non-stop for a full day!
Thanks a lot for sharing it, momx3lovesbooks!
I already have ritao's address, so the book will be travelling to Finland this week!

I got the book yesterday, thank you everyone! It was very refreshing to get a "real" book, not a paperback, through international bookring, and I was really surprised when I got it from the post office. I read the first chapter last night, but I'm not sure yet what I think of it. This is my first Jodi Picoult book, so I don't really have any expectations.
I'll try to be fairly quick with this, I just hope I don't get too much schoolwork to interfere with my reading.

At first I didn't think I would like this book, as it seemed over-sentimental and predictable. Then, somehow, I found myself just wanting to keep reading, although I had other things to do (I almost missed a train because I was reading so avidly). There are a few twists that keep the plot interesting and that got me hooked. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book, I will definitely take it, if I have a chance to read another Picoult book
I will contact the next reader just now.

This arrived yesterday - I will get started on it as soon as I have finished my current book. Thanks to ritao for passing it on and to momx3lovesbooks for sharing!
This was another well written book and not as heart-wrenching as some of Jodi Picoult's others, although it was very easy to feel for the characters. It was an interesting idea for a plot - I have not read anything similar and it's got me wondering if there has ever been a real kidnapping case where the victim has been unaware for so long...
The book is now on its way to BrooklinBrat in Canada and I'm off to correct my appalling spelling in my previous journal entry!

I LOVELOVELOVE Jodi Picoult's writing!! I'm not sure why, but when I read her books, it's like I'm not just reading, but inhaling the words.
Good story, loved the alternating POV.
Will PM herbyjan for his/her address and get it moving soon.
Thanks again for sharing!

Have just e-mailed love2read4fun and will send this book on its way back to the states as soon as I received address. This was my first read by Jodi Picoult. I found the story predictable but regardless I did enjoy it.
Have just e-mailed love2read4fun for the second time. :(
This book is finally traveling once again - I have mailed it to Bibliocrates this morning - Enjoy

Update 8/9/07: Both rootmartin and tostle have asked to be skipped, already read this book. I am sending a PM to guinaveve now.
Update 8/10/2007: guinaveve replied to my PM stating that she had asked to be removed from this bookray. Unfortunately, at this time, I am unable to ship this book to arugh48187 in India, so I am sending a PM to the last person listed now, auburncamom.
Update 8/15/2007: I still haven't received a reply from auburncamom and it looks like arugh48187 in India has been moved to the last position so I guess I will just await further instructions.
