Picked up at the February BC Meet in Leeds as a 'leftover'. This used to be my favourite book (studied it for A-Level English) - but it's since been eclipsed by other, greater things and slipped down the list somewhat. However, I have rated it 10/10 as it is one of the essential texts for anyone interested in the emotional complexities generated when colonalism, religion & nationalist politics collide - as well as being a strange, beautiful & painful study of oppression, cultural misunderstandings, emotional confusion & spiritual awakening. That's a lot of stuff!

I WILL reread it someday, but in the meantime I'm happy to let this copy go to a future BC Meet in York...
