Journal Entry 1 by Rebemdee from Dublin, California USA on Sunday, February 12, 2006
Certainly nothing new or ground breaking, but interesting and well written. I agree wtih Ms. Truss; the world is far less civil and pleasant. Whatever happened to basic social graces? I shudder to think of how we will treat each other 20 years from now, when we have ipods surgically implanted and don't need to communicate other than to say, "Get out of my way." Journal Entry 4 by karendawn from Lafayette, Indiana USA on Wednesday, June 14, 2006
I was a little disappointed with this book. I agreed with a lot of what she said and some of the stories were amusing, but it was rather dull in many places and it was actually almost a chore to finish. But I do thank Reb for sharing the book! I am happy that I had a chance to read it. :)

Journal Entry 5 by SKingList on Friday, June 23, 2006
The timing of this ring's arrival is great--I just borrowed Eats, Shoots and Leaves from a friend to read on the flight from LAX to NY. Am almost done with that and will start this next week to get it moving ASAP. Thanks all!

Journal Entry 6 by SKingList on Monday, June 26, 2006
Well this book tried to get out and yell at people when I made it suffer through lower Manhattan traffic this morning. :) I admit I skimmed it in parts but it was an interesting read. I actually preferred it to Eats, Shoots and Leaves. What I found intriguing was its ties to "Watching the English" which I recently attempted to read, without much success. I found the author to be too pretentious and too in love with the word "affected". According to her everything the British do is 'affected'. Thanks for sharing this rebemdee and for passing it on, karendawn. I've PM'ed cats-eye but not yet heard back. Will pass on as soon as I have an address.

Journal Entry 9 by cats-eye from Bishop Auckland, County Durham United Kingdom on Thursday, July 13, 2006
Don't you just love a book that leaves you feeling all smug and self-rightous?! I thought this was great...I found myself agreeing with most everything Truss had to say, and subjecting my husband to lengthy quotes from most chapters. I especially enjoyed the "booing the judges" section. I do think many of the chapters were more focussed on Brit culture, so it was interesting (as an American living here in the UK) to compare the differences in culture and to note that it isn't just me (as an "outsider") who notices these things here!! Thank you for the opportunity to read this one, Reb - I will send it home (or wherever you'd like it to go) as soon as I've gotten an address!
