This is the story of a young family who followed many others before them and migrated to Canada from Scotland. The young woman who tells the story looks for a better life in the wild prairie of Alberta. It is an honest book telling the good and the bad of trying to settle in a land so different from where the people came.

Left on a bench in one of the CityLink bus stances (I think it is also the stance used by Westerbus).
