When she agrees to accompany her ex-boyfriend Nick Jamieson, a conservative Republican lawyer who is desperate to make partner, on a weekend business trip as his fiance, Tess Newhart, an outspoken woman of the world, discovers that opposites really do attact.
I really enjoyed this book. Crusie always seems to write about characters that I can like as people which of course means that I want to keep reading to make sure that things work out for them.
I won't spoil the plotline for anyone but suffice to say I was left with that warm fuzzy feeling.
One thing though what is with the confusion with her surname Cruise or Crusie???

Book arrived yesterday - yay! I had just read another Crusie book over the 4th of July holiday -- Getting Rid of Bradly -- and look forward to another Crusie read! Started it last night, and will go ahead and PM the next person for her address today.
I actually didn't enjoy this one as much as her other books. I think because I didn't really care much for Tess as a person in the beginning, though I'm not sure why. But this one just didn't flow for me the way Jennifer Crusie's books normally do, though I did get caught up in it eventually, and I really enjoyed the dinner where Gina met Park's parents. So all in all still a decent read.
Will probably mail this Friday or Saturday as Friday is payday!

Sometimes I really like Jennifer Crusie and sometimes I don't. This time I started off liking the book and then around page 100 I lost interest. I think in the future I will just give her books a miss because it is awfully annoying when I end up with one that isn't so good.
I hope everyone else enjoys the book even if I didn't finish it! I will be pming the next person now and will try and get the book off in the post sometime this week.

This wasn't the best Jennifer Crusie book that I have read but I still enjoyed it.
Like Aramena, I loved the dinner party where Gina met Parks parents.

WOW! a RABCK!Thanks so much... So far I've only read Welcome to Temptation by her, and really enjoyed it, so I'm keen to continue the experience.
This arrives on the heels of the ring for The Weight of Water which I gather will not be such light reading...so it will be good to have some comic relief afterwards.
Many, many thanks and all the best from the Swiss alps where it snowed this week (yes, today is May 31st...but then we had summer in April this year, too.)

Well, I would have guessed this was written earlier - there's something a bit quaint and syrupy about this. Cruise writes a good story, and is funny and clever, so it's always an entertaining read. This one is just a bit too cute... but I enjoyed it nonetheless! And so nice to have had it as a RABCK... only one Crusie left on my TBR stack I think (Don't Look Down)... I've read several since this one arrived last spring, and have enjoyed them all. I'll have to try to find some more soon!
