Husband loves this author. I should probably keep one of his books and read it before releasing it! Will take this with me on my trip to New Zealand, perhaps releasing it in Christchurch.

A reasonably gripping Grisham-like legal thriller set in Mississippi. The Mississippi setting was probably the most interesting part to me, because my knowledge of that part of America is pretty limited (and based mostly on the Hollywood version of the South) so it was really interesting to see it from an insider's point of view. Some of the intricacies of the plot were probably lost on me, because I don't really understand the way the American political structure works (I've never really figured out the difference between Governors and Senators and all the other things - here we only have one House in our Parliament, so the American system seems incredibly complicated in comparision), but I do know enough about American history to broadly understand the relationships between the major "real life" players like Hoover and the Kennedys and how they fitted into the story.

Anyway, not my usual reading fare, but an interesting read nonetheless. Thanks, KimKerry (and Mr KimKerry!)
