A Wreath for the Bride

Maria Lang is recognized as The Swedish Agatha Christie and I agree with that. Her stories take place in a small town not far from where I live. I don´t think she is representativ for Swedish authors of today, but she is still very nice reading.
"On the eve of her wedding, Anneli Hammar disappeared. She was to have been married to one Joakim Cruse, half Scottish, wealthy, eccentric; and the wedding should have been the talking point of the year. But when Anneli´s close friend, Dina, insists that she saw her going into the local floral shop to inspect her bouquet, the obvious questions have to be answered-how and why did she leave without a trace, never to be seen again?"

What a suprise! I vaguely remember Stormon saying that she was going to send me a book by a Swedish author. I can't believe it got here so fast! Can't wait to read!! Thanks Monica!
I finished reading this last night. I wish that I knew how to pronounce the name Joakim. (Wahkim?)
At the end of the book.. the author alluded to the fact that maybe all the questions hadn't been answered (don't want to give anything away).. about who put the lillies of the valley in the victim's hands. I guess the answer totally got passed me.
Thanks again for sending me a new (and Swedish) author! I will find a new home for this book. I think I know where to find the next destination for this book.

I am sending this book to boreal. She is participating in the 5 books, 5 Countries, 5 continents challenge. I am participating in the Lifetime Release Challenge. Travel little book, travel!
A nice light, quick and non-taxing book to read and like the blurb says very like an Agatha Christie. I enjoyed the setting -it all sounds most idyllic and is very typical of small towns where everyone knows everyone elses business.
I will see if I can find another 5-5-5 challenger who wants to read this, will keep you posted. Once again thanks Stormon and Karen-r.
