I found this book beautifully presented and atmospheric, but found the end section a little unfilling- perhaps it could have been fleshed out a bit more? I loved the recipes before each chapter, I will look forward to trying some Iranian food in the future.
Thank you to elisabethlily for passing on this book to me last night. We had a lovely meal at the new Stone Restaurant. Good food, books and friends - what else could a girl ask for? Looking forward to reading this book - will probably remind me to contact my Iranian friend!
Thank you to Elisabethlily for passing this book onto me.
It was a lovely book with great characters (all of the usual small town sorts) and interesting storyline. It was like a peep into a world with only a few memories of the past thrown in - the author has obviously taken from her own and family's Iranian and Irish experiences and thrown in more research.
Iranian food is very similar to Turkish food so that was lovely to read about.
I after finishing this book, I could not resist contacting my long time Iranian friend in Sydney and of course I suggested that she read this book!
