Once more a very stupendous book from James Rollins. It`s - as usual with this author - an adventure-thriller. A story out of the Amazonas Forest. OK, its bit of an "adult helter-skelter´hunt", but with an interesting and also, in some ways fascinating medical background. The nature kills, but the nature also can cure and heal... And the idea of an "evolution" of "Homo Sapiens Sapien" is quite fetching.

I´m just thinking to start a bookray with this one... The first stop will be "redhatbird" - as a surprise... The ray will be offered in a few days, when I´m at home again, using my own computer... Keep in touch!

I'm at home again... The following people are taking part in this ray:

"redhatbird" from New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada (int'l)
"vexter" from Ljubljana, Slovenia (int'l)
"Alithia" from Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand (NZ/Aus. pref.)

Edit: February 07, 2007: This book got lost somewhere between Slovenia and New Zealand.
I therefore just registered a new copy of this book to get this bookray movieng again:

Yay! I got the book July 4th and finished it by July 6th. Most excellent story. Well developed characters, it was all very easy to visualize.
This was the first Rollins book I've read, and not the kind of book I normally read. It kept me interested and the very beginning had me hooked like a fish.
I actually became quite interested in the characters, I wanted to know what happened, hence the quick read. Although parts of the story are similar to other kinds of books I've read, I did find the amalgam of these to be unique.
A good book in my opinion is one where I want to experience the backdrop, and though that wouldn't necessarily be safe, the Amazon is so much more intriguing now.

Yay, finally here! I was getting a bit suspicious about our local postman. ;)

Thanks for the card, Redhatbird - the recipe sure looks yummy, I'll have to try it out sometime!

This was another page turner, just like the last James Rollins book I've read. The writing is a bit clumsy at times, but I can ignore this if the plot is interesting enough, as was the case here. ;) All in all, a fun, fast read, so thank you, book-man-8, for this great thriller. :)

Btw, I am definitely never going to the Amazon! I get a nervous breakdown whenever I see a spider in my room, I wouldn't last 5 minutes in the rainforest! :))

I've already PMed Alithia for her address, and I'll post the book as soon as I get her reply.

Edit: shipped via surface mail on September 2nd.
