Received this in a box of "doomed" books from a friend. I figured I'd save it from the dumpster and release it. From the cover:

Tess Newhart knows her ex-boyfriend Nick Jamieson isn't the right guy for her. He's caviar and champagne, she's take-out Chinese pot stickers. He's an uptight Republican lawyer, she was raised in a commune and thinks Cinderella is politically incorrect. He wants to get ahead in business, she just wants...him--only not the social climbing Nick, but the sweet, caring, unbuttoned-down Nick...Somehow she finds herself agreeing to play his fiancee for a weekend business trip that could make or break Nick's career. And while he's wrapped up in convincing Tess that he needs her in his respectable world, Tess is doing her best to keep her left-wing opinions to herself and her hands off Nick.

This is a great book - the first I've read by Jennifer Crusie, but not the last. It jumps straight into an interesting action scene and keeps on going. I'm impressed that Crusie has a PhD in literature and a MA in Women's Studies and Writing. This is light reading for those who like good writing.

Ooops, I just found this on my shelf and realized I never sent it on. I liked the story. It was fun and had some good twists, although I thought it lacked something that I couldn't put my finger on and didn't spend too much time analyzing. I'll send it out on my next trip to the PO.
