This was taken on Blyth beach (North East England) and it's approx 1978, and I'm the one in the blue bikini! Question is, why is everyone else in Jumpers?! My family where originaly from the North East, but moved to Warwickshire in the late 60's. We spent every summer on Blyth beach (near enough) and now the've moved back up there, leaving me here in George Elliot/Shakespeare country. |

I live in the middle of nowhere in the heart of Kent with my bookcrossing son, MantisMad. This photo of me is rather out of date, but the most recent one I've got - I *hate* having my picture taken! |

Hmmmm what eles to say... I have one son (7dragons) who is 13 and a wonderful S.O. (GWiley), and although they think BookCrossing is a great idea, I do all the work on their bookshelf. So if you check you will notice their bookshelves are rather boring. I also have a step daughter and 3 grandchildren ages 2, 4, and 6. I have 3 cats (Zeus, LuLu, and Silver Bells) and 1 dog (Mocha) who is a Husky. The picture is of Mocha. And last but not least I love this web site!!! |

Right now it's my last year in high school, and there's this extremely important SPM examination at the end of this year. Dad's like, banning me from reading books until then :( Ah, well, there are ways to slip past dad's watchful eyes ;) |

Please check out my availables as I'm happy to post them out, though not too many at once as money is a bit tight atm. I've uploaded a photo of my baby, Holly, as it's the only one I have at the right size. There's a picture of me & my other daughter, Kate, on my profile page. Holly was about an hour old in this photo & I'm getting broody looking at it. Whoops! |

I'm Mark, my current interests are: Modern Fiction, my mini-orchard/micro-vineyard/cider-making projects, music from A-Z (especially D, U & B but definately not C & W), Leicester Tigers Rugby Football Club and all the home nations, except Wales and Scotland. Oh, friends and family too. The picture is from my younger 'Bearded Rock God' days, obviously the beard has gone, though sadly little else seems to have changed! Pass it on.... |

I dug around for a photo and having discovered, shockingly, that there is no good photo of me with any one of my guinea pigs, I've chosen one that has a large, empty wine glass in front of me. Says it all really. |

I also have two daughters, the eldest has branched out as Tiggerlily on here, while the other two still maskerade as We3Dragonets. Happily I got rid of their father about two years ago, which is when my life really began. I was born in Singapore, we left when I was five months old, and since then I've lived in many parts of England. The second half of my life so far has been in London, but I still count myself as a Northerner. I live with my three wonderful but wearing children (it's sometimes a pleasure to go to work!), one cat, three hamsters, and a tankful of tropical fish. Thanks to bookcrossing I have read some fascinating books that I otherwise wouldn't have looked at, and made friends with some wonderful people; several doctors, several librarians, several media stars (including a journalist at the BBC), a rocket scientist, some published authors - but more, they are warm and generous friends. I have also discovered that it feels perfectly natural to go into a pub and sit on my own with a book, or meet a crowd of people I've not set eyes on before - very liberating! I can be a bit scatty, have no memory, and my house is always a tip. My mother is forbidden entry (she lives a long way away anyway) as she is a good housekeeper, but my friends have learned to accept me the way I am, and are always welcome. If you're ever in London, send me a message and I'll be more than happy to meet you! Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed, I tend to talk an awful lot sometimes! |

I live in Stevenage with two kids, assorted livestock including dog, cat, fish, tortoise hedghog etc, several hundered books and a long suffering wife. I work in London, though my boss has suggested I mearly eat lunch there and draw a wage. Which is why at 6 pm Im still at work instead of heading home - mind you I am dossing - so perhaps he has a point...... |

Just to prove that I'm not a COMPLETELY dumb blonde, here is a picture of me on the day I graduated with First Class Hons in English Lit. I am not working at the moment, apart from lots of voluntary commitments. When my son Sam (now 6) is a little older, I hope to teach English. We live near Oswestry in North Shropshire with a mad Border Collie called Fosse, two cats and a hyperactive gerbil. I love reading (obviously), theatre, music, walking, good company. Lots of other things too, but I'd better stop somewhere! Alison (aka OutrageousGrace) P.S. Isn't Bookcrossing just a lovely thing to do? I think the world would be a nicer place if it was full of bookcrossers. |

I took up running in my 50s having been a lifelong couch potato. The photo is of me just before running the Brighton 10K in November 2005. It was taken by the younger of my two grown-up daughters (faerieenigma on BC). My other main activity is West Gallery music in which I fiddle and sing the treble part in a performing group from Warwick. My other interests mainly revolve round esotericism and hermeticism, Egyptology, astrology, tarot, Jungian psychology and other "weird" pursuits. I am currently owned by 4 cats, all black: Merlin, Ebony, Sopdet and Seshat. |

caffcaff here...aka Vikki....aka Super BcWoman, a nickname i seem to have adopted by the fact that i go to meets all over the country lol. Im branching out a bit in 2006 as i'm signed up to go to the Convention in Toronto! *gulp* I'm a born and bred Sowf Eas Lundoner now residing in Kent UK. Well i couldnt move too far away from London as hubby's business is there.... Talking of which.... Hubby is a BCer too, hes "BigBoss" and has been known to attend the odd meet (and come home with more books than me would you beleive!!!!). The other BCer in the house is "tigzz" my DD who is 13. My two sons (aged 15 & 17) love to read too, but you'll never catch them journalling a book.... They think my book thing is "stupid" lol. I've been a BCer for 20months and my fave part of the whole thing is wild releasing.... I've just done the sums and on average i release about 192 books per month lol.... Addicted? Me? lol The picture is of me taken by SemioticGhost at the BCUKUnCon05. We're in the throws of planning BCUKUnCon06 at the moment, so im looking forward to seeing a lot of you in Birmingham in June! |

Mmmm! Yikes! Starting to sound like a dating agency profile. Better not let KEMS see this. The picture here is the closest I could find to me holding a book. I had been lounging in the pool (it was 42 degrees Celcius there that day) with a book, but had to put it down to drink my mug of tea. |

I've been a BookCrosser for three years, I get a great deal of joy from books, BookCrossing and BookCrossers, and I have sometimes been described as "the world's only full-time BookCrosser", which isn't too far from the truth! |

I'm Laura and i'm a teacher living in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. I teach little children, 4 and 5 year olds. I'm a newly-wed and now own my own house. Yay - no more renting! I am a vegetarian and i love food. I love to read and i've been a member of BC since 2003, although i have slowed up a bit in my reading and releasing of late. I also love to be creative and make things. My main love at the moment is knitting but i am slowly expanding my horizons. Looking forward to reading what everyone has written. :D Edited to add: Forgot to add my sister and brother are also bookcrossers - mockingbird-05 and Jonneh. Still working on my non-reading hubby! Also wanted to add a link to my journal: http://laurakateknits.livejournal.com/ |

I live with two Burmese cats and I am not putting a picture of them in this journal because they are very territorial and there are already a lot of cats here. This is me bookcrossing in Iran. I'm not usually that wide - I am going to have to tweak the original to slim me down a bit. |

I have two adult sons and the younger one Robert is always complaining about my books. As well as obviously bookcrossing I do geocaching and host overseas visitors thro' couchsurfing.I don't have a lot of spare time but one day hope to get back into my craft work and the family tree. My future plans include taking extended leave from work and travelling especially to the UK so I hope to get to meet everyone in person. The minute I am given medical clearance I will be booking my flights, which gives me about two years to save the money. This photo was taken at a work function, when we arrived we were all handed headgear to wear.I used the idea at the Dunedin convention. |

The picture here is Davros-10 and me on holidays in Sydney in 2005. P.S to Davros-10, I have read your journal entry and say – go ahead with the on-line dating agency suggestion if you will. But, confidentially, I think it is a safe bet that he won’t proceed because he’d begrudge the time that would be taken away from BookCrossing! |

I'm Rosie, born in St Albans, a Roman city just north of London. I love travelling and am currently moving very slowly around the world with my Canadian boyfriend. So far, on this particular journey. we've been away from home for about 15 months and have visited Canada and Fiji, and spent a year on a working holiday in New Zealand. It was great to meet up with Kiwi bookcrossers when I passed through Christchurch! We've been in Australia since November, enjoying Brisbane and challenging ourselves fruit picking further north in Queensland. Now we've moved to lovely, temperate Melbourne, which we'll use as a base for the next 2 years. I'm currently job-hunting - back in England I worked in publishing and in medical libraries, though here I'll take whatever I can get! Hoping to meet other Melbourne bookcrossers soon. Good to meet you all - I'll upload a photo when I get the chance. |

Love reading, wonder what I did with the time I know spend, bookcrossing, keeping up with BCUK & tracking rings/rays & then sitting on my hands to stop me joining more, LOL. I'm attending my first UnCon in Birmingham this summer & am looking forward to it. Sharing a room with Reetpetite & flying down from Edinburgh, my first solo airplane trip, so I'm dubbing the UnCon scotsbookie's big adventure. Hate having to have my pic taken so you'll have to make do with a little Marigold Flower Fairy I stitched. |

I'm Jenny, I live in a village near Harrogate, North Yorkshire and I love it here! I'm married with a 6 yr old daughter who is the light of my life and apart from reading, my other hobbies are card-making, calligraphy, watercolour painting and dressmaking (the last two haven't had as much attention since I started BookCrossing but it was a sacrifice worth making!). |

Hello all! My name is Feryl, and I live in Sydney (just around the corner from Littlemave, as it happens), but I grew up in the beautiful, World Heritage listed Blue Mountains. I was introduced to Bookcrossing nearly a year ago (my first Bookcrossing anniversary is coming up on 17th April!) by my friend miss-jo. I've since become slightly obsessed with it and keep pestering the rest of my friends to get in on the action too! :o) |

Anyways, here's a little about me - my BC name first and foremost is a homage to my 2 main vices : coffee and chocolate. But it is also a "twist" to my parentage of Indonesian-Dutch-Sino-Malay ancestry. So, instead of the usual "cafe-au-lait hue" used generally to describe a mixed raced child, I decided to call myself "Cafe-au-chocolat" instead (yes ... yes ... I am the poster child for confused children and walking dichotomies). I now live and work in Kuala Lumpur (or KL as it is affectionately known by locals!) but have spent 3/4 of my years growing up in London, New York, LA, Rotterdam and spent 7 years doing my tertiary education in France. Perhaps now you understand why books are my contant companions. I've been a BCer since 2002 (or was it 2003? hmmm ...) and you can check out my BC profile on the kind of books I love. |

I'm Coleen, 30-something, living in the Midwestern USA. I'm very addicted to this BookCrossing thing, I might add, pretty much since the day I joined. How can you NOT be??! I am also not good with the photo thing here, but I'm going to try, and if it doesn't work, I guess I'll keep trying until it does. I had to laugh and get the camera the other day when my daughter (who just turned 2) plopped herself down on the floor with one of her books and some of my brown packaging paper and started trying to wrap it up, apparently after seeing me do it numerous times. LOL! |

I love Bookcrossing, although I do have _far_ too many books to read now, and feel that any time not spent reading is wasted! i have made loads of great friends through the site and really look forward to the monthly Newcastle meetups. Might even sort myself out and make the Durham meet a regular thing (pigs might also fly!) :s And for anyone who knows I'm related to the weeblys but aren't sure how (can hear aunty weebly complaining now that I'm not weeblysniece!) I am weebly's niece (duh!) and katweeble's daughter. Finally a question - how do you add a photo to a journal? Can't believe I've been a member for over 2 years and still don't know how *looks very sheepish and hurredly submits je so as not to prolong embarrassment!* Update - thanks very much to feryl for letting me know how to add my picture (stolen from aunty weebly who put it on another journal related to me) :) |

I'm Pixette and live in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia, but I originally come from Brisbane. I love my adopted city, slendid weather with the city and a magnificent harbour I can walk to from home. I've been a bookcrosser for a couple of years now and enjoy the company of other crossers immensely. When I travel (which happens occassionally) I hope to meet some of you who are a bit more far flung than downtown Sydney. I haven't got a recent photo but I need one for a few other reasons so I'll post one sometime. |

I find Bookcrossing to be eminently suitable to my obsessive compulsive tendencies and there is no greater Bookcrossing feeling than getting (sadly rare) a journal entry from a released book. I also enjoy rugby, football, cricket, real ale and many other admittedly-typical Blokish, British pursuits. |
