Nothing Like the Night

Lawrence's characterizations lift an otherwise run-of-the-mill plot and create a immersive world of cops and criminals. DS Stella Mooney is part LeCarre and part Rankin, but her moral dilemnas make her far more than an ordinary paper detective. My husband read the book and said he never enjoyed a female character more than he's enjoyed Mooney.
As I am clearing out my books, I will be sending a box of books to a university here in China. The university is in Dinghai, Zhoushan, Zhejiang and the teacher there has set up a little library for her students. Books in English are very hard to come by so she is looking for any donations.
I don't know if these books will ever be journaled again but once they are out of my hands, I can't do anything about it! I hope the students enjoy them.

This arrived in the post today from China, as a 'The Books Must Go' RABCK from Kimmi. Will read it soon. Thanks Kimmi :)
This is the second book I've read from the Stella Mooney series, (both RABCKs from Kimmi- thanks), and I've enjoyed both. I'll be keeping an eye out for more in the series.
