TBR mountain gets higher.
This book is reserved for Catsalive and will soon be going on a long trip.
This book has been on my TBR shelf for more than a year and a half. If I haven''t read it yet, I probably never will. I am going to wrap it up and send it to Catsalive as a trade.

Ooh, thanks kayjay33. This was a surprise for me as I'd forgotten all about it - the only benefit of a deteriorating memory is the constant surprises. LOL!

I couldn't resist reading it straight away. What a lovely story. No literary merit at all, and strangely old-fashioned, but peopled with lovely characters. I will have to keep an eye out for more of Shaw's books - very relaxing. This is the 1st in the Barleybridge series.
cover blurb:
It is Kate's first day in her new job, and she is more apprehensive than she thought was possible. But there is no time for nerves, and her anxieties soon vanish as she finds herself flung headlong into the hectic world of the busy vet's practice and the clients who visit it. But it's not just the animals who win Kate's affections: the staff are friendly and welcoming, particularly Scott, the Australian, whose wicked sense of humour and enthusiasm for life Kate finds hard to resist, despite his rather colourful reputation. Before long, Kate begins to feel that there are other changes she wants to make in her life - and her boyfriend, Adam, is not at all happy about it. As Kate struggles to cope with Adam's increasingly erratic behaviour, she realises she must make some very difficult decisions...

I have just read, & enjoyed, this again before I read some more about Barleybridge. These are much better than the Turnham Malpas books; they don't have the same jerky writing style & they're far more interesting as they include so many vetinary details.
