My husband is the David Sedaris fan. I just don't "get" him. Oh, well. I hope someone else can appreciate this book.

Journal Entry 2 by collectorkerri from Springfield, Illinois USA on Tuesday, January 17, 2006
This is the book for my first bookray. Sent to sabeena29 today. Then it goes to cyber-librarian, gothamgal, lyraness, buchsuch and sunlightbub. Edited to reflect that I've changed this to a bookray. I didn't initially understand the difference between a bookring and a bookray. I don't want the book back, so sunlightbub is free to release/trade when finished. Also edited to reflect a slight change in shipping order.

Journal Entry 5 by cyber-librarian from Cary, North Carolina USA on Monday, March 13, 2006
I received this on Saturday from sabeena29 in Mass ... as part of this bookray. c. 2004 -- 257 pages -- Hardcover -- American Humorous stories -- 4 weeks on the USA Today top-10 Bestseller list: #5 on 6/6/04 and 6/13 #7 on 6/20/04 #10 on 6/27/04 Jacket Flap: David Sedaris plays in the snow with his sisters. He goes on vacation with his family. He gets a job selling drinks. He attends his brother's wedding. He mops his sister's floor. He gives directions to a lost traveler. He eats a hamburger. He has his blood sugar tested. It all sounds so normal, doesn't it? In Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, David Sedaris lifts the corner of ordinary life, revealing the absurdity teeming below its surface. His world is alive with obscure desires and hidden motives -- a world where forgiveness is automatic and an argument can be the highest form of love. Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim is another unforgettable collection from one of the wittiest and most original writers at work today.

Journal Entry 6 by cyber-librarian from Cary, North Carolina USA on Sunday, April 09, 2006
I finished reading this today and hope to mail it on to gothamgal tomorrow. I must say I was greatly disappointed by this book. It started out very funny with things that happen to families and what lies underneath every day life. But I just don't find his gay lifestyle funny in the least. If all he can do is fight with Hugh, then why is he remaining with him? I wish I would have stopped reading at the strip poker slumber party. There's much better things to read.
