I haven't read many of Tom Holt's ovels, but those I have, I've loved. Can't wait to read this one - I'm sure it'll be funny! Thanks for releasing it.

Journal Entry 3 by wingdark-dracowing from Ledbury, Herefordshire United Kingdom on Friday, September 29, 2006
This is another masterpiece from Tom Holt.

Hackers crash the Wicked Queen's Mirrors Opertaing system, so fairy tale land needs rebooting - only Snow White is in control, the Seven Samurai are fighting the Dwarf with no name, the Big Bad Wolf has been turned into Prince Charming, the Three Little Pigs keep blowing up their house, the Brothers Grimm are trying a hostile takeover and all Dr. Frankenstein can create is a small wooden boy whose nose keeps growing. All on all, not a place you want to be trapped in!

I laughed out loud in places - it was so good. A brilliant concept and so recognisable that you could just imagine this happening - almost!!

Thanks for releasing it.

Am passing it on to Lauraloo29 as part of the Reverse Wishlist Book Relay.

If you just read some of the captions of this book, and didn't know who the author was, you would be instantly able to identify it as Tom Holt. He has impressed me once again with his high witty humor, and comepltely out-of-the ordinary writing style. Though not even close to my favorite of his books, it was a fun read!

I'll be shipping this out this week, once i get the next address.

This book arrived today. I am going to pass it on to secretninja (my BF) to read first since I have another bookring to read and I don't want to hold the ring up.

Looks like I got this book before the BF did.

This is the first Tom Holt book I have read and was an entertaining read. I thoroughly enjoy books that put a new spin on classic tales such as fairy tales, especially when it's a modern twist. Such a mix up of stories was hilarious and like others I laughed out loud in some parts. While I enjoyed the book, I couldn't help from compare it to the satirical great, Terry Pratchett. I still prefer his books, but I will definitely continue to enjoy Tom Holt's books.

Being given to the BF to now read. :)

Being sent to esq288. Yoursecretninja did not read because he thought the cover looked silly. The man needs to learn not to judge a book by it's cover! Still love him though! :)

Hope you enjoy the book and the rest of the summer.

Just received in NJ. Will be starting on it as soon as I finish the other bookray book I'm reading. Thanks for sharing!!

Journal Entry 13 by StinaRy from Long Beach, California USA on Monday, September 28, 2009
I am a huge Tom Holt fan, but I just couldn't get into this one. I tried again and again, but I found the book entirely too easy to put down. It wasn't that it was awful or that I don't enjoy the genre, I just didn't find the characters the least bit compelling and so rather than torture myself into 'force-reading' it, I've decided to give up and pass it along. Hopefully the next person in line will enjoy it more than me. And thanks for sharing anyway!

UPDATE: Sent to the next reader in the US via media mail on 10/8/09. That reader is currently in Israel, however, and won't actually receive the book until Christmas when it is brought to him there. So to the rest of the folks on the list....don't worry when you don't see this book journaled for a couple of months. :)

I received this book from my parents as they came to visit me here in Jerusalem, Israel...thank you! I have one or two other bookrings but never fear, it'll be read and off to Japan early next year!

I really didn't care much for this book, even though it was pretty creative. I slogged through it though, and mailed it off yesterday to pinkbug1 in Japan via Jerusalem-Old City Post Office, Jerusalem, Israel.

Happy travels little book!

Journal Entry 16 by pinkbug1 from Monterey, California USA on Thursday, February 25, 2010
Just got in the mail from Isreal! How freakin' cool is that?!? Thank you so much! I can't wait to read!

Finished:This book was incredibly confusing! First of all it didn't really make any sense, and you were wondering what is going on until almost the end of the book! Plus the British slang, and I love British slang, (don't get me wrong), was a little much to deal with. Then the story line jumps around to so many different characters in the first 2/3rds of the book, and characters just kept being introduced, made you wonder when it was all going to stop! Okay so dialogue hard to understand, plot hard to understand, characters, hard to understand. But throughout all this confusion, it was still amusing! which was the only saving grace. My favorite characters were the Big Bad Wolf and Julian the Pig. Finally after all that about 2/3rds of the way into the book they finally decide to explain everything, and then the rest of the book made a little more sense, but then the ending was kind of lame as well. All in all more a bust then a good read.
