I bought this book because I really liked Proulx's Shipping News. But this one I did not manage to finish, it's so depressing. The ending is supposed to be good but I gave up reading anyway.

I saw the book in the library entrance after I was just looking for another book of Annie Proulx and didn't find any. I became a Proulx "fan" after I saw the movie Brockback Mountain and started to read her novels. It was a funny feeling to find her book like that!
