Darkfest- Amanda Ashley -well written, great suspense...led up to an abrupt, too easy ending, this disappointed because up to that point the story was excellent and had real potential. I would have liked more character development for Channa, but Lord Darkfest was well done. Overall I'd try this author again. 7/10
Phantom Lover- Sherrilyn Kenyon- I liked both of the characters and the overall theme of the story. Some of the back story was a bit too complex for this format and of course the reader must willingly suspend disbelief as some plot elements were way too convenient - but it was a fun story. 9/10
Under her Spell - Maggie Shayne - not my taste. Was more of a how-to and an essay on wiccan-ology than a short story (back flap says the author is a Wiccan High Preistess). The author seemed to be too focued on explaining what wicca is and isn't and not focused enough on plot or character IMO. 2/10
A Wulf's Curse - Ronda Thompson - this was cute. Both characters were well done and the supporting cast was interesting and added depth (reminded me of the 1936 movie *Freaks* a bit). I would have liked it if the *secret* was brought out and developed earlier - it was obvious what the issue was so holding it back for so long was a mistake IMO. Overall very good - I'd check this author out again. 8/10
