Not as funny as his previous books, but very political. I think I'll start a book ring for it! :D First stop... LadyJanet!

Journal Entry 4 by Ladyjanet from Normal, Illinois USA on Wednesday, March 15, 2006
I love Al Frankin! He's always right there with the facts when some idiot lies. And I only hope his letter to his grandchildren at the end of the book comes true..***sigh*** I do have to admit that I liked "Big Fat Idiot" better, but maybe that's because it was so refreshing to read. Now I know what to expect. And I wasn't disappointed. Sic 'em, Al! On to the next recipient, winging it's way for Truth, Justice and the American Way.....

Journal Entry 6 by cheesygiraffe from Florence, Alabama USA on Sunday, March 26, 2006
While I do agree with a lot Al Franken said I just couldn't finish this book. Too much political talk and it made my head hurt. I'm sending this off to candieb in the morning.

Journal Entry 7 by candieb from Austin, Texas USA on Tuesday, April 11, 2006
Thanks for sharing this book. I'm in the middle of tax time and then we are moving... I should still get this done within a month though... *looks around confused in typical fashion* Is this a ring? Where does it go next? ==== 5/6 - I see from Isehop's bookshelf, it goes back to them, but I know they are kind of inactive now. I've PM'd them, but an update. I just finished a monster of a book. I'm going to read a light one over the next few days and then I'll start this one. My brain needs something light before tackling Franken.

Journal Entry 8 by candieb from Austin, Texas USA on Friday, May 19, 2006
Just finished this one. Can I say that I love Al Franken??? Seriously... okay, I agree with his politics, obviously and I love the letter at the end... but what I truly truly love about Al is that he has the driest, yet zingiest sense of humor of any of the political types. Oh yeah, Michael is just downright funny, but Al is funny in a "double-take" kind of way... I just want to squeeze him! Well written, but most of it I already (very unfortunately) knew. There were a few things in there that surprised me, though... what scary times we live in... This one will be going back to Ish in the next few days... thanks for sharing!
