Got the book some days ago - will read it after the one I am reading at the moment.
I am first of all VERY VERY sorry that i kept the book for such a long time. I read a few pages every day - I can not really agree to the fact that this is supposed to be a thriller... Towards the end it gets more and more thrilling but the overall mood of the book was a mixture of history and regular novel. Something kept me reading it - it wasn't boring, just also no real thriller. I PMed *lbrarymouse* several times and didn't get a reply - now I tried with *drusillamac* and as soon as I get any address the book can continue its journey.
Thanks a lot *eatsletters* for sharing the book!

*librarymouse* is not answering my PMs, *Drusillamac* has an own copy already, so PMed *ecossaise*...

Arrived safely, looking forward to reading it.
I'm in the middle of A Suitable Boy and have a bookring to read first but it shouldn't take me too long to get around to it.

I hated this book.
Is that too strong?
This book appears to be a straightforward thriller and mystery novel and for the majority of the story that is how it reads. It starts of conventionally enough and the two stories move along at a reasonable pace, although the momentum flagged a little during the middle third. I enjoyed the story and would have awarded this 6 out of 10 had it not been for the ending.
The ending was deeply disturbing and very moving. I really felt for the characters. However I don't feel that the subject is suitable for an entertainment medium.
