10 out of 10

In the land of Ingary, where sever-league boots and cloaks of invisibility do exist, Sophie Hatter attracts the unwelcome attention of the Witch of the Waste and is put under a curse. Determined to make the best of things, Sophie travels to one place where she might get help--the moving castle which hovers on the hills above Market Chipping.
But the castle belongs to the dreaded Wizard Howl whose appetite, they say, is satisfied only by the hearts of young girls...

I love Diana Wynne Jones. This book is another good one though I'm not sure that I can explain what I like most about it without including spoilers. :)

I've actually read this one before, and had it on my wishlist to reread and pass on to my sister squirrelpooka when she comes home from school next :)

This is one of my favorite young adult authors that I discovered as I was slipping into my twenties.

This actually got added to my wishlist after seeing the animated movie that came out last summer. I'm looking forward to rereading this and seeing the differences between the two.

This was as fantastic reading a second time as it was the first.

As I thought, the biggest difference in between the film and the book was the war, and the anti war theme (in the film) otherwise it was pretty close to the books story.

I'm hanging onto this until I can pass it onto my sister.

Change of plans as the sister unit is really busy with school type reading/projects. I shall be keeping this to add to my spring flinger package sometime soon.

Finally I got around to this one! And completely enjoyed it! This is the first Diana Wynne Jones I've gotten to, though I've wanted to read her for awhile. I must see the movie now! :D You've made a convert Nim! I'm not sure I can say what my favorite part is either, though Howl's shifting suits were very funny I thought! I loved that the door opened on 4 or so different places, and Calcifer was cute. I loved the whole thing really, and will definitely be reading more.

On the way to AM10000 next from the teen VBB! Enjoy!

9 out of 10

Wow, was this a fun book! It was a quick read, but the plot was still dense enough to hold my interest and not seem like complete "brain candy." I will definately be looking for more from this author.
