Yay! received today - thanks Morseman! I should be able to read it in a couple of days' time. It's in great condition, so I think I might extend what Morseman has done and set up a BookRay...
Journal Entry 6 by Mochagirl from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Thursday, January 12, 2006
What an awesome book! This has to be one of the most well-written books I've read in a while. I think Haddon has Chris's voice down very well - it's very realistic - and quite apart from that, the story was extremely compelling! I often don't enjoy reading "children's books", but this proves that a good children's author will write something that everyone enjoys...
Thanks to Morseman for sending it to me :)
The bookray will hopefully be starting up at the beginning of next week.

I thought this was a great book. From what I know about Aspergers I felt that Haddon had the 'voice' of Christopher almost perfect. I really felt for him when he was confronted by people and situations he wasn't familiar with.
Received this as part of a book ray and will be posting it on this week

Received in the post this morning. I have one to finish before it (but it is meaty) so it may be a week or two before I send it on. Thanks to Mochagirl for sharing and willowfae for sending.
This book really surprised me. I always thought this was a mystery book written by someone who had Aspergers, but this was more like the effects that Aspergers has on someones life. The everyday problems they face and their way of thinking.
It was a very quick read and I thank Mochagirl for sharing it.

Just arrived! I'm so very happy I'm finaly going to read this!
But... I'm sorry to say that it'll have to wait for a while, for I received 4 books at once (rings and rays, all of them)! Anyway I don't expect to delay it much; I'm usualy a quick reader!
Thanks a lot, molekilby, for sending it my way!!

Well, I guess there isn't much I can say about this book besides I loved it!
And I'm glad it didn't disapoint me as I had heard so many great things about it!
I read it in about 3 or 4 days, and just couldn't leave it behind; also I was sorry it was ending... I wanted to know much more about this boy, how did things go from that point and beyond...
I guess this is one of those books that will stay with me for a long time and that I'll remember every once in a while!
Thank you so much, Mochagirl, for the opportunity to read it, as well as Morseman and ReetPetite!
I already PMed dittybopper for an address and I'm just waiting for the answer to get it on it's way again.

Received in the mail yesterday. I just finished a bookring so this one is next on my list.
This was a quick, interesting read. I have heard of Aspergers before but until now, did not understand the condition. Thanks for sharing with me Mochagirl! I really enjoyed reading this one.
I will prepare to mail it to loom91 soon.
I will prepare to mail it to loom91 soon.
loom91 has PMd asking to be skipped (obtained a copy from elsewhere) so it looks like I am the last person in the ray.
I am sending this book on to Florida in bluedevils' Bestseller Bookbox so it can continue it's journey here in the U.S.

From the bestsellers bookbox.
I have way too many books already on Mt. TBR, so this one is available for others. Will keep "available" until I find a suitable time and place to release it.
I've already read the American edition of this book. Looks like I'll have to find a good way to pass this one on!

The book arrived yesterday. It's moving to the top of the stack. Will read and report back.
Really looking forward to this one.
Thanks everyone.
Much, much later (an embarrassing delay with no excuse to offer) we do report back. What a wonderful story, very surprising and very compelling.
We've sent a PM to PurpleElephant to get this mini ray back on track. Many apologies.

Thanks Grorser for posting. I've been meaning to read this for a while. I've got a couple of rings above this on mount TBR but they both seem to be reasonably quick reads. Will set to it as soon as I can!

Sorry guys for keeping this for so long, having trouble keeping on top of mount bookring right now! Thankfully my husband has just received a copy of this book for Christmas so think I will pass on this copy and borrow his when I am less weighed down.
Have pmed symphonicca for an address.

Woo hoo!!! Look what finally made it here to Peru! And just in time, as I am actually leaving soon. Am very much looking forward to reading this and will journal more when i have started getting into it.
I loved this book--- innovative, funny, touching and well-written. I thought using the voice of Christopher as the narrator was brilliant, and he was great to read (despite all of the seemingly superfluous details).
For me, there were genuine surprises in the story, and I loved the way we learned these things at the same time as Christopher--- the revelations felt very genuine and you 'went there' with Christopher and understood his reactions a bit more. This book was as much about Christopher as it was about his parents and the complicated nature of relationships, in my opinion. Christopher doesn't understand and is confused by everything, but in the end so is the reader. Excellent book--- thank you SO much for sharing!
I am not sure what I will be doing with this next--- may send it to another bookcrosser, or pass it on to a family member in the hopes that I get them bookcrossing. We shall see! :)

Update: Passed onto my bookcrossing mother, since she wanted to give this book a go. She promised to journal, so i can find her and badger her if she becomes delinquint... :)
