Ich habe versucht Bücher zu finden, bei denen Schauplatz und Land des Autors übereinstimmen. Bis auf ein Buch ist mir das glaube ich auch gelungen.

Ich versuche, Bücher zu wählen, in welchen ich etwas über ein Land und seine Menschen (geschichtliche, politische, kulturelle, traditionelle, usw. Hintergründe) erfahre. Ich lasse aber offen, ob der Autor im belesenen Land lebt oder dort geboren ist. Wenn es übereinstimmt, umso besser...

I just realized that I had not yet put an entry into this journal so ... here goes. I joined this challenge a bit late, after I had already started on the Olympic Challenge. I'm keeping my progress toward both of them on
my bookshelf with links and all, but I'll put a copy of what I've read for this challenge here, too. I basically counted the first 5 books from each continent for this (excluding poems & short stories).

Thanks so much to all who've shared with me - the reading lists, bookrings and bookrays, trades, and RABCKs are a big part of what has gotten me this far in both of these international reading challenges. I have read some truly wonderful books that I might not have opened up without these goals. I've also read some books that I didn't enjoy. But those were fewer, and I feel that even some of them gave me some growth and food for thought.

In the spirit of returning some of that good karma, I am marking most of my international authors as "Available" on my bookshelf as I finish. And I've started several bookrings and bookrays which are listed on my bookshelf. Please PM me if you'd like to be added to a ring or ray that's active. And don't hesitate to request a trade or gift of one of my Available books.

Ich habe momentan nicht so viel Zeit zum Lesen, aber ich würde gern sehen, wie weit ich mit dieser Challenge (meiner ersten) komme. Daher auch nur die einfache Fassung der Challenge, 5 Bücher aus 5 verschiedenen Ländern jedes Kontinents. Alle diese Bücher habe ich seit Sommer 2006 gelesen.

Currently, I do not have that much time to read, but I'd like to try and find out how far I can get with this challenge (my first one).
