The Corrections

This book has received rave reviews from the critics... but I can't understand what all the fuss is about. It's not badly written but plods along at a pretty slow pace. I couldn't relate to any of the characters and quite frankly wouldn't want to! I didn't find any of them particularly likeable and half way through the book now I couldn't care less what happens to them. Not exactly compelling reading, but hey, I'm no book critic!
PS. Have now finished & thought I would add that I was a bit harsh before...it definitely improves in the 2nd half & found the end quite moving. Still only deserves a 4 tho'
Planned for release this week somewhere round York University

And this is the third of the stash of books in my first transcontinental book package. It is one I have had on my mental wish list for quite some time. I can't wait for a lull in the holiday festivities so I can crack this one open.
I found the story interesting but the writing was cumbersome. I enjoy a challenging read but this was not challenging, it was just cumbersome IMHO. However, I am glad I read it. I would probably read somthing else by Frenzen before I would solidly reject him as an author worth my time.
Released on Friday, April 25, 2003 at to fellow bookcrosser in postal release.
