Thank you "The-Organist" this is a truly beautiful looking book - I'm very anxious to delve into it.

December 20th - it was a very good read (though I wanted to give the great grandfather a kick in the pants for being a stubborn ol' coot). Enjoyed this read.

It's now going to get to travel around the world in a BookRing - returning at the end to The-Organist in New Zealand.

Jblueafterglow – Canada - finished
summerbreeze - Canada - currently has
allbookedup - Austria
Yogie – Sweden
bestfriends - France
conversasdecafe - Portugal
VELETA - Spain
sydney2259 - Australia
The-Organist - New Zealand

Journal Entry 5 by jblueafterglow from Coquitlam, British Columbia Canada on Saturday, January 21, 2006
At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this. I loved the movie, and thought that it would be a chore to read the book after seeing the movie. It may be because my parents are from New Zealand, or it may be that this is a great book, but upon completion, I am very glad I read this.

Most of the time when books are adapted to movies, much content is lost. This is not the case here, as it is a fairly simple storyline with very complex meaning. It wasn't the content that was lost, it was the context. The book provided much explanation for the happenings of the movie.

Thanks again KarenBC. Will contact you for confirmation of next-in-line.

Jan. 23 update: Handing this off in person to summerbreeze later today.

I received this by jblueafterglow today...(his puppies are so cute btw). I am currently finishing a ring so early next week I will be able to get into this book. I can't wait as I haven't seen the movie yet and have wanted to. So I get to create my own images then let Hollywood correct it :)

Journal Entry 7 by bc-del-20080226 on Wednesday, February 15, 2006
What a great read. I didn't expect it to be a quick read either, unless that is because I enjoyed the book so much that I had to finish reading it once I started. Even though her grandfather ticked me off, I cried when he came around at the end. I must go and watch this movie now. I already shipped this book off last week, I just forgot to make a journal entry until today :)

Yogie asked to be skipped, so I contacted bestfriends.

Update: I now got bestfriends address and will send the book on as soon as possible.

The book arrived today.

I don't know when allbookedup actually sent it, but I know she got worried, as I already had a PM asking if I had received it or not. Although address and wrapping were correct, something must have gone wrong in the mail as there was a postoffice stamp on the envelope, that it had gotten into a wrong direction. No idea why.

Well, at least it did not get lost and I just finished the book I was reading, so I will try to read this one ASAP. Thanks for sending and sharing.

Update: 20 April 2006

I finished reading the book today and enjoyed the wonderful story! I always like books that are set in New Zealand, a country that is on top of my list of "places I would love to go to one day". It so happened that I also had to choose some new films today from my DVD (mail) rental program. So guess which one was amongst them!

I asked the next on the list to confirm her address (that is on RABCK) and will send it to her soon.

Well KarenBC - this little book has reached me (your old Birthday pal) after going through many hands and countries. I loved this movie, so look forward to reading this book - and thanks to Wombles for ferrying (and flying) it back from the NZ Convention. Promise to keep it moving after I've finished with it...
