Discover the city of London beneath, inhabited by those who have fallen through the cracks; a world where what's real is something altogether different, peopled by the likes of the angel Islington, old Bailey and the Marquis de Carabas.
It's a weird and sometimes wonderful world down there, and bizarrely, frighteningly conceivable.
The first book I've read by Neil Gaiman. I shall definitely read more!

Merci, ParisReader !

Reçu aujourd'hui dans ma bp: merci Penelopita.
This is the first book I’ve read by Neil Gaiman and quite frankly I didn’t know what to expect. I just signed on for the Ring because the title sounds exciting and I had gotten curious about that ‘Neverwhere’. I couldn’t put this book down as soon as I had started reading it. I wanted to know how it continued and what would happen to everybody. It was torture when I’d had to put down the book for my classes in uni and I stayed up until 2h in the morning to finish it. I really liked it!
His ‘Neverwhere’ never becomes incredible or farfetched. The characters really came to life in my fantasy as I was reading the book. I was following them around in the sewers and metro stations as another little invisible person hanging out with them. I really like this idea of another city under the official city and of which people in the official city have no clue. They don’t see the people from the “undercity” and if they do, they don’t remember them anymore after two seconds. This morning I actually caught myself trying to figure out in the metro which of the people in the wagon with me could be part of the unofficial city. Paris would also be an ideal city for this kind of thing: very old metrosystem, sewers and the catacombs.
I really like it when a book makes you think of other worlds and possibilities. This one certainly did that! I’m pretty sure this isn’t the last book I’ll read by Neil Gaiman.
Thanks for the Ring parisreader! :-)

Bonne lecture :-)
Récupéré au meet-up. Thanks Parisreader, Dank u E-J-V !
I enjoyed this book very much. Funny and very imaginative. Now I can't help imagining what Paris Below would be like and I will never regard the grey mice on the rails, or the empty RER carriages as I did before!
Thank you again, Parisreader!
Sending it to Fistule as soon as possible.

Thank you Fistule!
I really enjoyed this trip in London Below.
Neil Gaiman really knows how to mix reality and fantasy, parallel worlds that could just really exist...

That story is just... great! You're caught up following those characters to their travel and discovering that underworld, and wondering who around you in the subway come from Paris Below...
Thank you very much Parisreader, I should have brought your book back at the Gina's meet-up.
