This book is in a Controlled Release!
4 journalers for this copy...
I bought this book at Cummings Books in Minneapolis.
I finally read this book. I'm not sure whether I enjoyed it or not. There's something very unusual about Yoshimoto's writing, or maybe it has something to do with being translated from Japanese.
I will release this book as part of the First Sentences Virtual Bookbox.

"The place I like best in this world is the kitchen." Happy reading!
"The place I like best in this world is the kitchen." Happy reading!
My first sentence ("The place I like best in this world is the kitchen.") arrived, along with the rest of the book: Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto (Yes, that's really her name!) I'm looking forward to reading it, but I have a huge TBR mountain. As soon as I've read it, I'll make a journal entry and share the book with someone else! Thank you RhythmBiscuit for sharing your book, and thank you, again, CollectorKerri for hosting the First Sentence Virtual Book Box. (Link to Forum Thread, Click Here) It's always fun!

thank you - book arrived just in time for the April Ultimate Challenge and the 666 challenge (and the SIY #16 challenge). Will likely go with me to the convention for release, if I get it read in time :-)
rabck from dov-i-libra; used for Japan for 666 challenge. Novella of two stories. In Kitchen, the protagonist is most drawn to kitchens - they set prominently in her life and living arrangements, giving her a sense of security. In MoonShadow, the protagonist loses her boyfriend in a car crash and the story deals with her grief...and coming out of the grief to learn to live again.
I will look for a new reader via rabck.
