Purchased while I was taking a Canadian Native Literature course in university a few years ago. It wasn't part of the reading list so I never got around to reading it. Hopefully this year I will!

I loved this book. Thomas King is such a marvelous story teller. It's easy to fall in love with his characters and their wild stories. I loved reading about Will and Harlen and Louise and South Wing and all the other great inhabitants of Medicine River. In keeping with First Nations tradition, King weaves humour in with his serious stories, making you chuckle even as you consider some dark themes. This book is much less involved than Green Grass, Running Water, and is a great introduction to Thomas King.
