Another installment in the life of Lara McClintoch, antiques dealer from Toronto. In this story, she travels to Budapest to find out the provenance of the Magyar Venus, a sculpture that is over 25,000 years old. We learn about some of Lara's college days and her relationship with Rob moves to a new level. All in all, an enjoyable read. I mostly love these mysteries because of all the history that is embedded in the story and how much I learn. Off to bluenoser next. Enjoy.

Now I'm ready to visit Budapest! It sounds like a beautiful city and with the help of the few words in Hungarian in the story I think I might be able to find my way from street to bridge! These easy-reading, cosy detective stories, by Lyn Hamilton, give readers a glimpse of the history, geography and life-styles of various country. Thanks cestmoi. It's off to Alberta tomorrow.

Not my favorite Lara McClintoch story. Although I know do want to see Budapest. I found this a very frustrating read. Not sure why. I finally had to buckle down and force myself to finish. Hmmmm
