Wow - what an exciting, hilarious ride that was! This book was just plain fun and really came to life for me since I am familiar enough with New Orleans (I live only 50 miles northwest of there) to know exactly where/what the author must have been envisioning as he was writing the book. I MUST get my hands on the next book about Jules, my new vampire hero.

I have to say that this book was interesting even though I did find it to drag a bit in places. There were some funny laugh out loud parts and the author seems to know quite a bit about the layout of New Orleans. I found it had well developed characters and the author is quite creative in a few hairy spots. Even though it was not my favorite read it was worth reading. Gosh I didn't think they made vampires that big. LOL! Thanks for letting me share this and I will be passing it on next week.

OMG..It was great. I loved it so much that I am going to have to go and buy me a copy of it. It was funny and weird all at the same time...LOL...By chapter 5 I was telling my hubby about it and he even start getting into it, so I had to make sure that I only read it when he was home from work, so he would know what was going on to. It is a great book and I can't wait to pass it on. I will be mailing it out on Monday. Laura

Arrived in the mail today. Looks really interesting, and the previous journal entries make it even more so. I've got to finish the book I'm reading, and then I'll dive right on in.

This book was absolutely hilariously good fun, but also sad and touching, and a little disturbing. I'm not as familiar with New Orleans as dittybopper, but I've been there several times and my husband was born in Metairie, so I recognized a fair bit. I thought the author did really well with the subject, and created a few new pieces of vampire lore that fleshed out his story. I'm looking forward to finding a copy of Bride of the Fat White Vampire to find out what happens next.

The story of Jules, a fat white vampire who drives a cab in New Orleans. He has a weight problem from drinking the blood of all the overweight NO natives, who subsist on fried foods, roux and beignets. Jules has to fight to keep his territory from being overrun by upstart vampire Malice, who threatens Jules and burns down his house. Undead cross-dresser Doodlebug (Jules' sidekick from the old days) flies in from California to help Jules reach his full potential. And to round out (pun intended) the cast there are the love interests, morbidly obese stripper Maureen, the matriarch of the clan, and plus-size model Veronika who both have the hots for Jules. It's really better not to think too closely about that last part.

I have NeedSun's address and I'll be putting this into the mail tomorrow.

I had a really hard time getting into this book. I didn't really like the main character, even at the end, and I didn't find most of the supporting characters very endearing either.

I sent it airmail to AtwoJay yesterday. Sorry that I held onto it for so long. We had alot going on that popped up at the last minute.
