This was a very hard read for me b/c I'm not "into" weird science-fiction and that's what I consider it. Although parts of the book were sort of interesting, as a whole it was not.
In the introduction, it says: "sometime in the 21st century, our self-deluded recklessness will collide w/ our growing technoligical power. One area where this will occur is in the meeting point of nanotechnology, biotechnology, and computer technology. What all three have in common is their ability to release self-replicating entities into the environment."
If you want to believe that, it's okay b/c we all have a choice in what we believe.
