I haven't managed to get all the way through this, it is very cleverly done though. I am going to set it up as a ring if there is enough interest and try reading it again when it gets back to me. PM me if you want to join with shipping preferences.

8 out of 10

Finished this book yesterday. Thanks for sharing, andthings!

I loved the structure of the book and the subtle ways the stories linked together.
In the second parts of the stories the characters sometimes made remarks that had resonances with other stories - there may have been some more in the first parts that I missed!
I did find the language in the central story hard to read but it was worth persevering with.
Altogether an interesting take on the past and some possible futures ........

Will now PM MonkeCatcher for an address to send this on to.

8 out of 10

This book has been with me for a while - sorry I haven't journalled it sooner! I loved the stories-within-stories concept, and really got into each style of writing, only to be frustrated when it would suddenly stop and a different style chopped in - then appreciated the resonances and links a lot more in the second half of the book, finding out what happened to all the previous characters. What an ambitious book though - there must be a huge amount of research in it!

I'd really be interested to read Mitchell's other books. Thanks very much for sharing this - PMing lightwavz now.

Updated: lightwavz has listened to the book on audiotape and OneMorePage is having a baby (aw! congratulations!) so PMing the next person on the list...
