My family had this three-book set when I was a kid, and I remembered them fondly - so much so that when I came across another copy in Colleen's Books in Houston during a family visit I decided I had to have them. The selections, and Sibley's line-drawing illustrations, are a very nice mix. This book includes a number of folk tales, myths and legends, poems, and snippets from biographies. [One of the entries here is "The Boy Who Drew Cats" by Lafcadio Hearn, an early favorite story of mine, and one that I still enjoy even after having rediscovered Hearn via his many other works. But it was in this book that I first read it.]

This book's been on my keeper shelves for quite some time now, and I think it's time it went traveling. I left it in the Little Free Library; hope someone enjoys it!
