Fight Club
9 journalers for this copy...
Whoa.
This was pretty true to the movie, with a somewhat different ending. I whipped through this book in less than 2 days — partly because it's short (< 200 pages) and partly because it's well-written, and quite gripping.
Like most books that are made into movies, I think I would have preferred to read the book first, especially because of how true to the novel the movie was. Nevertheless, having seen the movie does not prevent one from enjoying the book as a quick time-killer — provided you liked the movie in the first place.
If you haven't seen the movie, and this copy of the book falls into your hands, please let me know how you liked the book versus the movie (after you've seen the movie, if you plan to).

I'm shipping it out today to ashley0722.
Hooray! Thank you for sending this to me! I can't wait to read it, and I will update again once I'm finished.
I finally got around to finishing this book. For some reason it remained on the back-burner... I kept starting it, then getting sidetracked, then leaving it half-way through for another book, loaning it to someone else, etc., for basically the past year. All in all though, it was quite enjoyable (despite my procrastination), and better than the movie. Although, I must say it's hard to compare the two, because all throughout the book I would picture Brad Pitt and Edward Norton playing out the characters, replaying scenes that I recognized in my head, and imagining how the differences could have been approached in the movie. So I agree with Cliff, I would have liked to have read this before seeing the movie.. but ah well. Definitely still worth it.
I'll be sending this on asap to fullfill another bookcrosser's wish.

Yeah! I can't wait to read this. When the movie first came out, I had no desire to see it. Then someone let my husband borrow it, and I loved it. I hope the book is as good as the movie!
I think I've seen the movie too many times, and it ruined the book for me :-( which is sad, because I love the movie so much. There were some scenes that were different from the movie, but it was difficult to read, since I pretty much knew what was going to happen, and kept playing the movie out in my head.
I think that if I hadn't seen the movie, I would have enjoyed the book much more. But, since I hadn't wanted to see the movie in the first place (it is now one of my favorite movies!) that is debatable!

I will (hopefully) be mailing this book to beachglass on Monday. Thanks for being so patient with me! :-)

Sending this one as part of the Pretty in Pink relay. Enjoy!! :)
Book arrived yesterday, Thanks AM1000. I've never seen the movie or read the book, but I know they are both pretty popular. Looking foward to it. Will journal again once I've read it and passed it on.
I've had this book for awhile, so I decided to read it or let it go. I just couldn't get into it. I still haven't seen the movie. I might someday and if I did I might read the book after that if I liked it but the book on it's own just isn't doing it for me. I am bringing it with me to release at the 2007 Bookcrossing convention in Charleston, South Carolina.
Received at the Sticky Finger Life Swap at the Charleston BC Convention. (It was a lot of fun!)
I am sure this is a good book, and I heard a good movie, but it's so not my type. I will check my lugguage space and either take it home with me and put on my AVL shelf, or leave it at the table.
ETA: 5/12 - Including in a box of books to DebyS.
