When reporter Carl Streator discovers that unsuspecting readers are reciting the poem and accidentally killing their children, he begins a desperate cross-country quest to put the culling song to rest and save the nation from certain disaster.
My thoughts: This is typical Palhanuk, being his usual bizarre self. He covers lots of subjects in this one: Wiccan/witchcraft, extreme vegaism, the negative effects of humanity on the enviroment in general, ghosts, etc. It's probably not my favorite of his, but it was a quick read that I enjoyed well enough. He makes statemens in it, though it is hard to tell if he believes them himself, or just thinks they make good "copy". If you like his work, you'll like this too, though it isn't one of his more memorable works, I don't think.
