Arthur & George

Book club book of the month for last month. Didn't get to read it, but looking forward to doing so.
I loved this, because I thought it was a book that would not appeal at all. No interest in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, no real interest in law, or spirituality or any of the topics covered. Yet I thought it was well written, the characters were well rounded. I like the fact it was based in reality - factional is the word I heard recently to describe these types of books. I was interested in what happened to all the characters. I found parts of it very amusing and one part in particular quite hilarious. I didn't particularly like either of the main characters, but that didn't deter me from the enjoyment of the book, It was their lives I found interesting. And funnily enough even though Arthur put himself across as the revolutionary and forward thinker, George was actually a lot more liberal in his thinking.

I've heard so much about this. I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in. (In fact I have to admit I started it before I journalled it!)
I enjoyed this. I found the George story fascinating and enthralling, the bits solely to do with Arthur much less so.
