I purchased this at the Book Rack in Berry Town Center, Florida.
This is the first book in "the Lives of the Mayfair Witches" series. I have great expectations on this, since it's an Anne Rice book.
I'm looking forward to reading it!

Anne Rice has a way of writing that makes it poetry. It is so beautiful, and even though the story may be a bit lengthy from time to time, the language makes it worth while.
This book is about the Mayfair family, who all have special powers - thereof witches. It's an interesting story where you get to know every descendant of the Mayfair family up to the present one, Rowan. It's a bit scary from time to time, but I get scared easily.
It was a wonderful book in Anne Rice style! Not too fast, not too slow, and a language that speaks to your soul.

I agree with every word with which you described Anne Rice's writing.. Strange combination - Horror and Poetry, but nevertheless wonderfull to read.
