Clever idea, well written, sweetly romantic but horribly sad. I loved and hated it. Sending onto meganh.
I found this on my shelf - forgotten that Claire had registered it whilst home on holiday- hi Claire! The story of Henry and Clare was different to anything I have ever read. A love story for sure, but maybe it's also a near-future science fiction? The way Henry could travel back in time (but not forwards - except for one time) and got to meet Clare as she was growing up (him with no clothes on too!) was quite weird -specially when she remembered his visits and he had no recollection until he reached each of the visiting ages.
A very well written book which I will share with others.

I've REALLY got to stop going to meetups! This one has been on my wishlist for a while, though, and I couldn't resist....
I found this book an enjoyable read, if a tad too long. (I think it's something about getting older that makes me impatient with authors who get a bit wordy!)
I was astonished to discover this is Niffenegger's first novel, as she writes with such confidence and assurance that I assumed she is an experienced author. I also enjoyed the quirky nature of the love story.
Thanks for sharing this one with me, megan. I'll return it to you at the next meetup.
