Murder Among Neighbors (Kate Austen Mystery #1)
4 journalers for this copy...
To be read.
Abandoned by her feckless husband, Kate Austen has all she can handle carpooling her five-year-old daughter to preschool, baking for good causes, keeping her lawn mowed, and devising survival tactics. It looks like everyone else in her affluent suburban neighboorhood has it ultra-easy...until her fabulously wealthy next-door neighbor is found murdered.

This is the first book I've read in this series and I'll definitely read the other two I have on my bookshelf. I really enjoyed this. Kate was a fresh character, I liked the housemom angle. I look forward to seeing what happens with her, Andy, and Michael.
Accepted by Daine on the "Cozy Killers" Relay.
Arrived in Bremen today, thank you for sending it to me :o)
5.5.07:
As the book stayed here for a year and I never read it, I give it to the next reader now.

Uuuuh, already more than two years this pink book populated my book shelf. There was no need to disregard this book for such a long time! It was a simple, but very entertaining mystery. I liked the characters, and in addition the language was easy for a non-native speaker like me. Maybe the chance to find the second episode here in Germany is very little, but doubtless I would love reading it.
Read for the German "Bergabbau-Challenge" with the subject of september: "Like fire and water"
Read at least one book with a title or an author name containing the words water or fire or a subject related to them (for example flame, smoke, candle, burn, rain, snow, coast, fish, island etc.) or a book where to find fire or water on the cover.
(On this book-cover water is not clearly visible in this tiny picture of the first journal entry. But the view outside the window on the cover shows the Golden Gate Bridge with the San Fancisco Bay (surely filled with water).
