Ten Tales from "The Decameron" (Penguin 60s Classics)

I bought this little book with ten of the Decameron's many tales back in 1995. Now I will read it.
Finished reading it today.
Ten young Florentines take refuge outside their plague-ridden city in the summer of 1348 and they entertain themselves by telling a story each for ten days. The "human comedy". Funny, outrageous, sometimes tragic or wise the stories give a good view of society, religion and human nature. And very entertaining.
Ex. Third day, Tenth story, the young and beautiful girl who wants to learn how to serve God and finds a hermit who is willing to teach her the best way - by "putting the devil back in hell", which must be done quite frequently!
