Accidentally bought two copies of this one, so I'm going to lose this one on a bus somewhere. Will give a review upon release.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

I'd taken this book travelling, thinking I'd release it in the William Shatner centre where one of my other releases turned up, as a sort of thank you to the nice anonymous individual who took the time to make a journal entry on the book they found there (which really made my day that day). Also I felt I owed Montreal a book after stealing one of its forks (from a street corner of McKenna—if this is your fork, I'm happy to give it back to you, but it looked unloved and so I decided I would ForkCross it). But I managed to be something like 50 pages from the end when I last had access to the Shatner building, and 10 pages from the end when my bus left, so this one ended up in the Kingston bus terminal when I disembarked. Good novel for a journey, so the bus terminal isn't a bad place for it.

I found this to be, as often claimed, an example of high-quality fantasy. Each time I worried it was about to fall into one of the fantasy formulas, it did something totally unexpected, usually deeply literary, not just original. While a little heavy on the foreshadowing, a certain amount of this device is necessary for some of the effects achieved. Overall, an intricately beautiful novel. Read! And make journal entry!

Also, for some reason, the given date and time are incorrect. I released this a little after midnight on the morning of Saturday, February 24, in case you're making guesses about whether it will still be there based on that.
