Have wanted to read this one, and been on bookrays lists for it for ages - found it today at Oxfam! Cool!
This is a very funny, and quite disturbing story! Very fast read cos you get quite into it, and it is written in a way that flows easily. Was kind of interesting how Grayer took to her quiet quickly, although I would imagine that that bonding process would be a whole other story!
These poor kids, and poor young women who get trapped into these kind of work situations. The emotional pull that the kids have, and the horror that is the parents! Nightmare! How can these parents sleep at night!
Nan was really just lucky that she had a good family of her own that were supportive, and let's face it, could help her out if the job fell through. What about all the other nanny's that have to endure this kind of treatment just to survive. Ew!
I am sending this off as a RABCK to Australia, in the hopes that it will surface at the Aussie Convention in October...

Arrived safely ... thanks heaps!
I won't get a chance to read this so it's off to Adelaide now for release at the BC Convention.
The bookcrossers of Australia, nay the world, will be in Adelaide in October 2006 for the third Australian bookcrossing convention. This book can now be part of the festivities.
Picked up at the Australian BXing Convention. This book will stay with me for a little while until I read it and release it on its merry way. Thanks!
Have just plucked this book off my shelf and look forward to reading it during my lunch breaks.
Wow, poor Nanny. Poor Grayer. I loved the writing style and tongue in cheek sarcasm, but sure wouldn't call it funny. This was a very good book, but god I feel for the kids and women who have to put up with the crap these families pile on.
Will release this book into the wild hopefully sometime in the next week.
