Journal Entry 6 by sarradee from Dallas, Texas USA on Sunday, July 09, 2006

I'm reading these out of order as I come across them. Fortunately I don't think I missed too much by reading the first and then skipping directly to this one. Each story has been fairly well contained in its own book. This is the story of a promise made by protagonist Cliff Janeway to an elderly woman to find whatever he could about the whereabouts and disposition of her grandfather's library. The grandfather's library collection consisted of first editions of the travel and adventure books written by his friend Sir Richard Burton. It also contained a priceless personal journal of Burtons. The books were scammed from their rightful owner 80 years in the past by unscrupulous booksellers. I enjoyed the premise, although I considered it a little far fetched how neatly everything came together by the end. I know I have at least one more of this series somewhere in the house and I look forward to reading more about Cliff Janeway the bookselling detective. This will be in the mail to LyekkaMarengo in the morning.

Journal Entry 7 by LyekkaMarengo from Warriors Mark, Pennsylvania USA on Saturday, July 15, 2006
Arrived safe and sound in Central PA. Thanks for sending this. As soon as I work through 3 bookrings I think I will finally be able to start on my own books. Solitary1 has shared some of her John Dunning books with me and I'll send this one on to her when I finish. Lending this to solitary1 since it doesn't look like I'll get to it anytime soon.
